I enjoy digging into thick layers of paint, excavating my own consumption.
Each painting is an archeological dig revealing layers and images, retrieved ancient emojis!
Conversely it gives me infinite pleasure to nail, glue and screw, mainly plastic fragments or gleaned urban flotsam to my work. Perhaps satisfying the rococo aspects of my imagination?
How my fascination with the portrait painter Hans Holbien fits into this mix is yet to be determined. However, Im sure fragments are there even if my perceptual understanding is esoteric at best.
